Bahia Beach Golf Club in Puerto Rico blends forest and beach

Puerto Rico's Bahia Beach Golf Club and St. Regis Resort, set on 483 acres, let nature do the talking. Designed by Robert Trent Jones Jr., the golf course is a Certified Gold Audubon International Signature Sanctuary, the only such course in Puerto Rico to receive the designation -- and it shows. Difficult without being penal, Jones Jr. found a way to plot a design that would be accommodating to all types of players.

Considered one of the best courses in the Bahamas, the Tom Weiskopf-designed Ocean Club sits on a sliver of lush land known as Paradise Island. It's not a golf destination as much as a vacation hotspot that just so happens to have a championship-caliber course to go with its beautiful beaches and array of water activities. Of the 350 courses credited to Nicklaus Design around the world, perhaps only a handful are better than Punta Espada Golf Club in the Dominican Republic. To call the course the "Pebble Beach of the Caribbean" would be an injustice -- to Punta Espada. Unlike at Pebble, playing Punta Espada is an interactive experience with the ocean.
