The Ocean ClubThe Ocean Club golf course is part of a luxury resort located on Paradise Island, which is less than 200 miles southeast of Miami. This 18-hole stretches over 7,100 yards of scenic coastline, providing not only spectacular views but also several tees and greens that play just steps away from the water. The designer of the course, Tom Weiskopf, wanted to keep the much of the natural land in tact while creating challenges for golfers of all skill levels. His goals are evident in the tropical atmosphere provided by the natural vegetation and the incorporation of the ocean as water hazards. Weiskopf also added alternating fairways at the Ocean Club and strategically placed sand bunkers for extra challenge.

I was relieved when I arrived at Ocean Club because that golf course was beautiful and worthy of the $205 discounted rate that I paid to play 18 holes.
I brought my own clubs and I'm glad I did. The hospitality and extremely customer minded staff deserved and earn the 5 star rating. A Yardage Guide is also provided along with a tee bag, tees, ball markers and a souvenier Ocean Club Golf bag tag. The Yardage Guide is such a treat as you flip it open to plan your approach on every hole.
The slope rating of 131 from the blues with around 6,300 yards wasn't as difficult as is lead to believe. Yes, lots of sand, lake and ocean hazards but wide open fairways and large readable greens made it more forgiving. This might be a tough course if you are a slicer. But fade or a draw will keep you in the middle of the fairway. Light winds don't seem to alter your ball flight much and par 3's over the water and 150 yards away can test middle irons into the wind. This golf course was a lot of fun testing your short game on every hole. I wish I had the time to play it at least 3 times. Darn!
I loved this golf course for its challenge and beauty! My hats off to Tom Weiskopf, grounds maintenance and staff GREAT job!
