The Course Is Closed But It Was A Nice Walk

Riddell's Bay went bankrupt, but the course is still there. For some reason, they are still cutting the grass so you can see where the fairways and greens were. My wife and I walked part of the course and I was tempted to come back and play it with a 7 iron. Like all the Bermuda courses we were on, there are beautiful views. If this course re-opens, I'd love to try it out for real.

A Great Round at Ridells Bay

This was the final round that my son and I played while in Bermuda over the holidays. A great course where you need to be in control, with some longer holes that require some nice drives.

Well taken care of and easy to understand layout. Great round.

Good Value and Good Challenge

Nice layout with some nice scenery of Bermuda sun, sand and beautiful blue water. Oh, and there's a golf course here too!

Conditions were pretty dry as they haven't had much water yet so lot of brown patches and must be a brilliant green when in "season"; right now not a pretty but the greens were still fast and true.

Course condition slips into summer hibernation

Bermuda golf is a winter sport - despite the best weather being in summer, locals and all of the main golf courses' staff deem summer the off season. What happens is the courses effectively deteriorate in condition as the fairways turn straw coloured, the greens are like concrete and the sand in the bunkers sets like clay. Riddells is a lovely old course design, the guys in the pro shop are friendly and, at the hot deal price of $79, it is a decent value for Bermuda. If you are prepared to accept the limitations of summer play in Bermuda, I'd recommend a round now - if not, hold on until October when it is golf season again. A better bet, and a course which actually waters the grass in the summer, is the Turtle Hill 18 hole par 3 - it is 18 proper par 3s (it holds the World Par 3 Champs) and is always in immaculate condition. It is a challenge and a great way to sharpen up your short game.

Beautiful & Great Value

Played this course twice. Wonderful views of the water from many holes, lots of challenges but you don't need to be a long hitter to do well. Hole 18 amazing.
For a combination of price, great maintenance of grounds and an excellent clubhouse for meals and a well stocked pro shop this is the best deal in Bermuda.

Conveniently located

Played in mid September, the greens were quite slow, but the course was otherwise in good shape. Pace of play is excellent and there are wonderful views of Riddells Bay and the Great Sound.

Short, interesting course

Riddells Bay has opened up to allow visitors now, so I thought I'd give it a go. Firstly, the greens had been recently aireated, so it meant lots of bobbly putts (I hope they are better when I return in a few weeks#. Secondly, no course planner and a first time round alone on a course with quite a few blind tee shots meant a fair bit of guess work was required. Now the good news - it was fairly quiet, even at the weekend, so rounds here are not overly long, and the lay out, although short, is interesting, taking in dogs legs, shots over water and requiring careful club selection. I shot 78 #par 70#, but as an 8HCP that is about right. It is not cheap - even on Golf Now the far superior Port Royal can be played for the same green fee - but it is worth adding to a Bermuda itinerary for the variety and the old school charm of the course #90 years old last year).....oh, and the views, as on most Bermuda courses, are wonderful.

Probably not fair to really write what it was like to play this course as it was areated three weeks before I got there.

Short course

The golf course is OK. It is rather short even from the back tees. There are other courses to play that are better.
