Valle de Sol Golf Course is the first and only public golf course in Costa Rica's Central Valley, even despite its location within the exclusive residential area of Parque Valle de Sol. The course features challenging greenside bunkers and wide, undulating fairways that are lined with tropical trees. On the course there are fifteen lakes that are connected by several small streams so naturally water comes into play on nearly every hole. To the north of Valle de Sol Golf Course are the Irazu, Barva, and Poas volcanoes and to the south are San Jose's towering mountain ranges, both providing the course with a unique backdrop that is further complemented by the nearby bird sanctuary.
