Club Campestre Cuscatlan was created from an older golf course that was in need of repair. This new course combined the existing course with new features such as an artificial lake and newly planted grass and trees. Originally a nine-hole course, the revision expanded the layout to an 18-hole championship course. The designer put in charge of this transformation hoped to create a course that was challenging and also environmentally friendly. After receiving approval from Audubon International, the old nine-hole course was converted into the challenging and scenic course it is today. Strategically placed sand bunkers are scattered throughout Club Campestre Cuscatlan and water hazards come into play on a few holes.
