The Fuego Maya Golf Course at La Reunion Resort was carved out of the base of an active volcano, appropriately named Fuego, which means fire in Spanish. This 18-hole course was Pete Dye's first venture in Central America. Dye worked with his son to design a course that would be a formidable test for even the most skilled golfers. Fuego Maya Golf Course features difficult carries over deep canyons and Dye's signature bunkering. The steep slopes of the course provide not only a challenge, but also beautiful views of the nearby mountains. On a clear day, golfers can even see the top of the Fuego volcano.
