Opened in 1928, Aguirre Golf Club is the oldest golf course in Puerto Rico. Sugar mill owners originally opened the course to please their executives and the course still stands today as a popular destination for golfers who want a challenge. The golf course provides a test for even the most skilled golfers. Many of the trees that stood when the course first opened are still scattered throughout the rolling terrain of the course. Water hazards come into play on two holes and there is moderate bunkering throughout. An abundance of uneven lies and narrow fairways add even more difficulty to the course. Although it is short, Aguirre Golf Club is difficult but golfers are rewarded with scenic views of the sea and mountains.
