Punta Borinquen Golf & Country Club was built in the 1940s as part of the former Ramey Air Force Base. The golf course's location along the coast on the northwest tip of the island provides refreshing sea breezes, but they are dangerous for even the slightly errant shot. There are eight holes situated along the ocean, providing views of the lighthouse. A Coast Guard station has replaced the Air Force base and planes can still be seen flying over the course. In addition to being family-friendly, Punta Borinquen Golf & Country Club is a popular golfing spot for both locals and tourists due to the reasonable rates.
