Wind a huge factor
The windy conditions impacted play much more than. Ii estimatedg. Use a lot more club a knock your shot down against the wind.
Green fairways again
This was the third time playing this course. I played it first in January of 2022 and it was quite dry. This year 100% improved, fairways were moist and the rough was treacherous. Which is the way a links course should be. The greens are slow, only one putted three times. Last year the water hazard on 15 was all dried up, this year completely full of water. It’s always windy so enjoy it when it’s at you back.
Kept repeating Wow!
Reviews of the ocean ,lighthouse, Cliffs, wildlife, borrowing owls ,lizards holes etc. and the challenge of the course was the highlight of my cruise vacation!
I did some reviews on the courses and people were saying that course conditions were a bit rough and they may have been but overall for a course on a desert island I found it was very well-maintained. Had people working out the whole time we were there to make sure that you enjoyed yourself in the conditions were great for area that’s not known for getting rain. I had no problems it’s not Pebble Beach but it is Robert Trent Jones Course very well designed super cool holes . I made a friend from Canada vacationing in Aruba there that showed me around very enjoyable his name was Charlie.
I found the staff to be very friendly and allowed me to go off a little earlier, which helped with the short time I had to complete it before sunset because of the time roll back took me 2 1/2 hours and thanks to Golfnow actually able to play The course for the same price of a round-trip taxi will remember it forever. Have fun I suggest it to everyone.! I ended up shooting an 87 for the first time on a course that I’ve never played, which was very satisfying.
Incredible views on a desert course by the ocean
Absolutely love the layout of this course. So much fun! It is in much better shape than a year ago due to rain. Hoping to play this course again this week. I played really well and ended up shooting my personal best score of 74! If you’re in aruba you have to experience a course like this!
Golf in Paradise!
3rd time playing here in 3 years, and course in in best shape I’ve seen. Some will say the tee boxes and fairways are awful and driving range is an eyesore, but I think they do a solid job with limited water access and being a desert land with high winds. Those high winds and unique course layout do make it challenging but still fun with solid birdie opportunities! Enjoy the scenery and course wildlife, and don’t get hung up on the scoring aspect, I played my best round there today with an 80 and I’m a 10 handicap. Such a fun time and worth the money especially if you can snag a GolfNow hot deal!
Past review complaints are picky
I read these reviews and expected a course that was trash. Well it’s far from trash. Aruba is a desert with little rain all year and yet this course condition was on par or even better than most Florida courses. The greens are not bad and the entire course is pretty darn good. The layout is awesome, challenging and fun. It was definitely worth going and I did so twice while in town.
With the Right Mindset you will enjoy this course.
Don’t expect a lush course in good condition. It’s impossible in
Aruba. But if you want spectacular views, challenging conditions and a nice time, this course will do.
18 holes in Paradise
The course is situated along the coastline so you get to see the ocean as you play. No chance of hitting the ball out there, it’s not that close.
In decent shape for the climate and the region, but not equal to the standard rate. Played on a hot deal, which was the right choice for me.
More for less
Interesting track with the extreme wind, but the conditions and the price makes it about a 3 out fo 10 value. Because it's the only track in town $169 around is extreme. I would rate it at $50 max. I think the scenic value is over rated. Be aware of the daily 25 mpg rain burst, it will wear you out.
Great bones, average course conditions
Structurally this is a fine course. Windy,, so work on your knockdowns. The problem is that it’s very clear they’re suffering economically, and unless you get the $65-$95 Hot Deal pricing you’re overpaying for sure. Greens are horribly slow, and are literally as thick as a fairway on a US course. Many greens have other issues as well, so don’t expect to score well that way. But I love hitting it around this course, it’s fun, at $95 or less.
Golf Carts
There was a problem with not having enough golf carts for the players. We had to use carts that were not fully charged for our round. Several players carts stopped working on the course. They definitely need more golf carts when they have that many golf tee times for one day.
Needs help
The golf carts are so old the parking brake doesn’t hold the cart on any type of hill. Apparently they just started working on the sand traps. They are way overloaded with sand. The machine they used to rake some them left huge rows of sand. Some had huge tire marks from the machine they used to fill them. They should have made them all ground under repair. Also seems they haven’t mowed the rough in awhile. Thankfully i got in on a hot deal. I would have been pretty upset at paying full price. I played the divi links which was in much better shape thou pricy.
