Very memorable course
A picture perfect course layout and location. I love playing this course.
Rained out after 10 holes
Thunderstorms chased us off course. Someone should have signaled weather alarm. Some sand traps were filled with water. Rental clubs were only fair. Still layout was great, interesting holes. Greens were okay.
2 Rounds in Aruba
Played Tierra Del Sol twice during our visit to Aruba, 10/28 and 10/31. The 1st round the wind was down, which is rare, while the 2nd round it was howling as expected. Overall the layout is interesting with some very good holes. Fairways are generous due to the prevailing winds. Conditions were average to good, nothing special. A bit rough around the edges. Greens were on the slow slide which took some getting used to,. While not the most pristine course it was still quite enjoyable to play.
Great vacation golf adventure!
Great challenging course with amazing views. We had a great day!
Not worth the money
They are supposed to be the upscale course on the island but with no competition they don't have to improve or even really maintain the property
Best 18 hole option on Aruba
I play this course every time we go to Aruba, and this year was our 10th trip. The layout is spectacular, the price is affordable, the pace of play is excellent, but the course conditions are just OK.
Back again!
I play this course every time we come to Aruba. Discovered the ability to book via GolfNow in 2021 and now do that every time I want to play there. Better rates than going through the Hotel Concierge.
Disappoinment
We go to Aruba every year in august, our 6th time playing this course, VERY DISAPPOINTED boulders in sand traps size of softballs, Tee boxes have not been cut or maintained, fairways Heavy grass clipping all over could not find your ball in the fairway.
Like I said have been playing this course 6 times in 6 years, Looks like the course is going out of business very disappointing
Course condition could be better
The course sits on a beautiful piece of land. The course condition could be a lot better than its current form. There are not many people play so the pace was pretty good. The resort has bars and restaurants that one can enjoy after the play.
Worst kept course ever
Even the day after we played, I am still astounded at the condition of this course. I re-read some reviews this morning and can’t believe it is even the same course. We constantly teed off from ankle deep weeds (see pic). Several times we couldn’t even play from where the tee markers were set because the weeds were taller than our tees. It looks like they may have started as Bermuda grass but it has been completely taken over by weeds. The entire course is either weeds or bare dirt. Most of the sand traps have eroded and are hard pan. If they sprayed weed killer on this course, only the greens would be spared. And not even all the greens would survive. There is no way a professional greenskeeper works there. The driving range is a disgrace and every flag on the course was ripped and tattered. It is a dump. Not at all what a resort course should be. I’m pretty unhappy that we wasted a beach day at this course.
Fun course to play---BUT
DO NOT pay rack rate to play this course. Use TeeOff or similar sites to find a discount. Tierra del Sol offers lower rates in the afternoon.
Unfortunately, this course is not in good shape. Weeds growing on several of the greens, rocks in the sand traps, sand traps that need grooming, tee boxes that need mowing. One person mowing the greens while you are putting, fairways with little or no grass, and plenty of weeds. The golf balls at the driving range are so old, that many of the balls are out of round. I find it difficult to understand how a course can be in such disarray and have such high green fees.
With that being said---I found the course challenging. The wind adds an element to the game that is fun to deal with for 18 holes.
If you are looking to play an 18-hole golf course, I would consider giving Tierra del Sol a try. If not, look at playing Divi 9-hole golf course.
You should play now! The course is in way better shape.
